Design Goals
Make a series of illustrations with the themes of “love”, “adventure”, and “horror”.
Description
This was a school assignment. We had to create three compositions with flowers, with each illustration exemplifying the themes of “love”, “adventure”, and “horror”. In addition, the compositions had to have a connecting theme.
The theme all the compositions share is dreams – as in dreams of love, adventure, and horror (or nightmares). For each composition, I researched the definitions of the words, “love”, “adventure”, and “horror”. When I think of love, I associate it with words such as “warmth”, “comfort”, “safety”, and “happiness”. When I think of adventure, I think “movement”. When I think of horror, I think “death” and “mystery”.

First, I gathered various images of flower to use as references. When I chose three, I imported each of them in Illustrator.
After that, I traced the flower, along with some petals.
Once completed, the lineart was exported and imported into Photoshop to be coloured in.
Once coloured in, each image was exported as a .jpg file, and then compiled into the image seen at the top of this page.
